Kenseth not in Shootout?

Does anyone know why Kenseth wasn't in the Shootout? Shouldn't he have been eligible under the past Cup Champion rule?

Because the Shootout is only elligible for people who have scored a pole or are past Bud Shootout winners. You're probably thinking of the All Star race where past champions are elligible.
