Dale Earnhardt Jr., along with others, will be forced to back-up cars in Sunday's AMP Energy 500 at Talladega Superspeedway after Junior's No. 88 Chevrolet had a right-rear tire explode during the final practice. Full Story
Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. I'm sure not do to the fact the 1st one took about 200 hours to finish.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s No. 88 AMP Energy/National Guard Chevrolet will have a different look at Talladega Superspeedway, thanks to the "Ride with Dale Jr." promotion from AMP Energy. More than 70,000 names in 13-point font adorn the No. 88 Chevy for this weekend's AMP Energy 500. Hendrick Motorsports graphics director Jim Gravlin spent almost 80 hours developing a stencil for the wrap by hand and then used his computer to place the names. The entire project, which required five test trials, took roughly 200 hours to complete.
entire project took 200 hours...maybe now that they have the program to print them, they will have to only take about 4-5 hours to wrap the backup car.
Lots of blown tires this weekend. I don't know if anyone caught the ARCA race, but they were blowing tires like crazy there too. Could be a demo derby as awlays on Sunday.
