MOORESVILLE, NC – On Friday, February 18, fans gather from all across the country in remembrance of the legendary Dale Earnhardt.
A Silent Candlelight Tribute is held every year on this day at Dale Earnhardt, Inc. corporate headquarters in Mooresville, NC. This year, the event will take place from 7-8 p.m.
In conjunction with the Tribute here, at Daytona International Speedway during “Trackside Live” on Speed TV (7-8 p.m. ET) fans will take part in the candle lighting ceremony, as well. Towards the end of the show, Teresa Earnhardt will light the first candles at Daytona with fans following lighting theirs along with her.
Anyone unable to attend the Tribute in person is asked to light a candle in honor of Dale’s remarkable spirit and Continue The Legend.
Hard to believe it's been 4 years already, but I can still remember it like it was yesterday.
The thing about that race I remember the most was the last lap and everyone had a chance to win. I told my dad that this is going to be good and I hope Dale can pull this out. When they got into the last turn it looked like to me he slowed up to give Jr. a chance to win it. He hit that wall and to me it was no big deal...Like any other crash that I have seen before it wasn't as bad as a Ryan Newman or Elliot Sadler. Then watching ESPN ticker on the bottom it flashed that he died. Just totally unbelievable.....
