Warning: At all costs, avoid picking the same driver in your lineup that June Bug Racing chooses as his 'Superstar Driver'. Such an action can only hurt your chances in the race for the Championship.
or maybe this topic should be the 'June Bug Superstar Jinx' ...... need proof?
DAYTONA - M. Waltrip was chosen as my superstar. he was showing DEI's competitiveness until late in the race, he blows his engine and thus finishing poorly.
CALIFORNIA - Bill Elliott was chosen as my superstar. he has had past success with finishing well there and yet he gets into an accident on lap 23 and does not finish the race.
LAS VEGAS - Mark Martin was chosen as my superstar. he's been on a pretty good run this year in both Busch and Cup and he does drive for Roush so its a pretty safe bet right? wrong, he has problems with his motor and finishes 30th!
(no other team was hurt in the making of this post, yet June Bug did sob profusely)
{sure glad we arent getting double negative points for our superstar drivers, that would be to much to overcome}
hmmm... double negative points.... not a bad idea starting with next race. lol
Ha, your post made me laugh. Some people are having great luck with their superstar picks, others aren't. Just luck of the draw I guess. My first 2 picks were Truex and Elliott. Wasn't expecting much from them, and I got nothing. This week I chose my first big name driver, Matt Kenseth. 10 points x 2, 20 points. Not too bad I guess, but was expecting more. Was hoping he could at least get up there and lead a lap.
You sound like my wife, except she comments about all her picks, how no matter who she picks, something happens to them. Although she didn't pick Dale Jr. this week and neither did I. What is up with hin? What a bonehead move so early in the race. I think he's trying too hard. Well he's always struggled in California and Vegas. Hopefully Jr. and all of DEI can get their act together next week on a track that Jr. does well on.
At least Waltrip didnt blow another engine this week!
