For those that are in the Busch Series league, you have to be careful when selecting Busch drivers. Drivers change a lot more between cars in the Busch Series. You really have to look at the race entry list here.
A number of you chose Kevin Harvick. Kevin Harvick is not running this race, he turned the car over to Brandon Miller. Harvick is running a limited schedule while Miller is running the rest. I switched all the picks of those who chose Harvick to Miller.
Some people chose Boston Reid. Blake Feese is running the car. Your picks will be changed over.
Some people chose Mark Martin. Martin was not even on the race entry list. Unfortunately you will be docked 10 points since the #9 car will not be entering the race at all.
For those who chose Reed Sorenson, he had a problem in qualifying, but there was a deal made in the garage where he would replace Sterling Marlin. You'll get the points for Hmiel in Marlin's call.
During next week, I'm gonna have to tweak the rules a little more for the Busch series with drivers and cars being entered into the race.
very understanding since it is the first week. but i think most of us in there really do follow the Busch series closely and should know what we are doing as far as who is in what car.
there should be penalty points if you chose Boston Reid while Blake Feese is in the car that particular weekend.........and any variation of such. (the only exception i could see is if a subsitute driver filling in and you getting those points only if you picked the original driver.)
example: I picked Driver A, and you picked Driver B.............if Driver A is suspended or wrecked the backup car or just wasnt fast enough..........but he still fills in for Driver B, since Driver B has a broken foot or headache........you would get the points that Driver A finished at, but i would not, since his car never made it in the race.
I'd be willing to entertain possibilities on penalty points for driver switches.
1. if two or more driver share the same ride, and someone picks the driver that is not racing that race, should they get the points of the driver that is? Example, the Boston Reid, Blake Feese situation, or the Kevin Harvick - Brandon Miller situation.
2. If the substitute driver is a busch-wacker, should they be allowed to get the points since they would have 3 busch wackers? Example, the Paul Wolfe - Jeremy Mayfield situation. Wolfe was originally on the entry list, but on Wednesday it was announced that Mayfield would be driving that car this week. Another cup driver will be sharing the ride too, but I dont remember who right now. This week I allowed them to get the points even though Mayfield was -2 points so it didnt matter all that much.
3. If a driver substitutes race day into another car, should they get the points? And what about the points for the driver that is out of the car? example, the Reed Sorenson - Sterling Marlin situation. Sorenson was unable to qualify because of a transmission problem, so Sterling gave up his ride to allow Reed in. Should Sorenson receive the points? I'd say yes, but what about if anyone had Marlin? Should they receive Sorenson's points too? What if someone had both Marlin and Sorenson in their picks? Should they receive the same points for both drivers?
Well we'll have to address these situations before next week.
Those words of wisdom would have been more helpful before the race there Einstein!! lol Never heard back by e-mail so I wasn't sure on my picks. Not to mention at Q's today I realised a couple of guys I thought I had weren't there. Oh well, won't happen again. I like you am busy and didn't think about it. Just a game though. No one died. Won't concern myself with conformation e-mails. I know now. Everyone have a great week-end!!

Well first off all the information about the race entry list has been posted in the rules. If you had read them thoroughly, you would know about checking the entry list... einstein.
second, the picks werent coming to me, but to the Vice President as I told you in an email earlier in the week.
I think I may take control of the picks for the first few weeks in the beginning of the season while the league is still settling in with new members, so I will send confirmation emails when I receive them.
I think a good rule of thumb for all of those situations would be this: If driver changes are made after qualifying then you get the points for that car's finish only if you had the original driver before qualifying.
In the case of two drivers for one car, then it is known which will drive all week.....pick the right one or get zero points. Again, if driver switch is made after qualifying, then that would be an exception.
As far as Busch-wackers, still same rule would apply, you could have 3 B.W. if one was put into a car of one of your original drivers AFTER QUALIFYING, but if you had picked that particular Cup driver as one of your B.W., then you would not get points, because he is not in the race under the car he was originally supposed to drive.
this was the first week for the Busch Series and we should have all known there would be bugs that needed to be worked out with the many different scenarios that could happen. just as long as we get it fixed quickly, i dont see it being a big deal.
That sounds good to me too. I was talking with the Vice Prez yesterday and we thought of something similar to it. He just said if a driver doesn't race, he gets 0 points, period. I think that's fair, but if a switch happens during or after qualifying, you have no control over it, so you should get the points of the switched driver.
You can change your picks up to qualifying, so you should be checking the list to see if there are any changes to your picks.
In the cup league, we have deductions if a driver fails to make the race or doesn't show up on the list at all. In the busch league, we'll just keep it a little more simple. No deductions, but no points either.
The only rare case would be if a driver goes over to another car during qualifying. Which was what happened with Reed Sorenson going into Marlin's car. Should those teams who picked Marlin get Sorenson's points twice if they have Sorenson and Marlin in their picks?
in that case, no i dont think they should get Sorenson's points twice........they should get Sorenson's points for filling in for Marlin, but not for picking Sorenson....he did not drive in his car and that's why they picked him, so they shouldnt get points when his car wasnt even in the race.
Before I made my picks I had read that Kevin Harvick wasn't goin to be racing this week end, and that is why I didn't pick him. You need to read up on the news before u pick. So if u pick a Driver who is not in the Race you should get zero points. No points for the Sub Driver.
I think in the Reed Sorenson situation, you should receive the points, and if anyone chose Marlin, give them Sorenson's points. If you chose both, give them both the points. It usually isnt a good thing if someone has to use a car they arent used to, they dont do too well, I dont really think it will make much of a difference anyways. Thats just what I think.
