After Bristol, NASCAR starts using current owner points for those drivers needing to race their way in. However, the salaries for the drivers will remain locked until after the Darlington race.
While setting up the dates for this year, I don't think the new qualifying format was set yet or at least I didn't realize how it was going to work out. I didnt want to go changing the dates after the season had started already.
Next year, the first salary adjustment will be after Bristol (or the 5th race of the year), and I'll probably add them a little more frequently as well. The first change will be after the 5th race and the last change will be at the start of the chase. There are 22 races between those dates, so i'll probably add 3-4 salary adjustment dates there.
With the first salary change it should be interesting to see how people handle Carl Edwards. That's the same thing that happened with Kasey Kahne last year.
