I think its about time NASCAR asks for tires that will last more than 75 laps at Martinsville. Rediculous to have people blowing tires left and right, ruins it for everyone. Ugh.
last year the competitors, not Nascar, asked for softer tires as a whole for the entire circuit.........their reasoning being, that it would allow the teams to be more in control of their own destiny each week. the only reason you are seeing teams have issues with tires are they are being way too aggressive with their camber setup (the tilt of the tire).
if there was a real problem with the tires, everyone would be blowing tires left and right, not just three or four teams each week that repeatedly have the exact same tire go down multiple times in one race.
Gear ratio mandates, Rear spoiler rules, and even Impound regulations can all be traced back to Nascar, but not the tire problems that the crews are bringing on themselves.
