after Tony Stewart's wheel sheers completely off and goes barreling down the track on its own and thus leaving the #20 to ride around on his brake rotor with 68 laps still to go in the race, a pit reporter says:
"this might hinder his chances at coming away with the win here in Martinsville"
Yeah, that was pretty funny. Especially since I didnt have him as one of my picks.
Travis Kvapil killed me. Can't believe he blew up with like 10 laps to go.
Scott Riggs.... what the heck? The polesitter and couldn't even lead a lap. And whats worse is he gets into Newman, another one of my picks. Luckily Newman was able to battle back and actually lead for short time.
Looks like my predicition of Jeff Gordon winning the race came through. I don't like Gordon as you know, but he turned in a fine performance today coming back from 3 laps down. Even Johnson, struggling as they were in the first half of the race managed to get it right halfway through and earned a top 10.
I knew Rusty was gonna do something stupid and he got caught speeding out of the pits. Unfortunately he still earned a top 5.
Dale Jr turned in a pretty decent finish after a number of struggles all day long. Good for him, they need to put some good finishes together. I still got a couple extra points picking Busch over Jr. though.
So I got bumped a spot this week but I'll make it up in Texas!
So when is one of the Roush cars going to pay back a Hendrecks cars. Also I felt bad last year with the plane crash and all but why can't they let Rick H. get on with his life. Plus if I see The 24 crew chief crying one more time I will be sick. NASCAR has turned into a bunch of cry babies. Lets go back to the old days when the drivers went after each other and settled there differences. Three rounds 24 and 97 my money is on the Vegas Kid. After that I did have the 24 as a pick. Might not like him but he finds a way to win.
Bump and Go, i couldnt agree more.......it was a tradegy, but talking about it each time we go to Martinsville or when a Hendricks driver wins is going to get old real quick.....let the man grieve in private........that is the way he wanted it, thats why he stayed away from the track for awhile.
and you can never really go wrong with picking Gordon to finish well at the ol' paperclip track........you know he has never had a DNF there? thats pretty remarkable since it is a short track that wears heavy on brakes and electrical systems.
