I don't think he'd bolt from DEI so quickly. He's credited Dale Jr. for helping get to where he is now. He's DEI's future and if he bolted at the end of this season if DEI gave him a good contract, he'd alienate a lot of people. now if DEI doesn't give him a good contract, thats a different story. They'd be a fool not to keep him.
I think this story is just more rumors sprouting up as silly season is beginning to hit an all time high with rumors of drivers going to different rides. But if Truex ever does go to a different team, I'd root for him all the same. Yes, even if it was to.... *shudder* Hendrick.
one thing comes to mind.........remember two years ago, how Jr.'s contract had not been renewed and everyone was saying he would leave? after it was all settled, Jr. came out and told the press that DEI and himself had decided to wait until the season was over to discuss money. makes perfect sense to me.
im sure that is the case yet again, DEI haters, dont get to happy just yet.
lets not forget that Bass Pro Shops as already agreed in principle to sponser Truex for the first three years of his Cup career at DEI.
Bass Pro Shops will be alright either way. DEI would be holding the bag on that one, but I agree that Truex would be foolish to bolt. Lest not forget Ford had an up and coming driver "locked up" only to lose him after Hendrick watched him race at Atlanta. Mr. Petty's last week-end as a driver. I'll never forget those choppers doing a pace lap with the King about 40 ft. obove our infield impaired heads. Ah... where was I.....?

oh by the way, don't teams have to be "good" before they aquire haters? Seriously I don't hate anybody. I'm just a fan of nascar. Truex dosen't get the right respect from DEI... he's got options. It's up to DEI to bring it if they want to keep him. I'm sure they will. Plus there seems to be an influx of young talent right now so I don't expect a bidding war either. Peace
