Congratulations to the Storm Devils and thanks to everyone for playing!
It was quite a 2 week Championship battle between the Storm Devils and Rangers. The lead changed quite a few times in that time. The Rangers had a slim lead going into the final day but it was the Storm Devils that prevailed thanks to a game winning goal and a shutout. The final score was 12-9.
The Storm Devils are the 08-09 Champions so congratulations to Jay Smogolski for a job well done.
The Rangers finish in 2nd place which is one spot better they finished last season.
Lefflerfan and Yatesfan had quite a battle in their third place game whose score was also 12-9. Lefflerfan came out on top to win the third place trophy. Last year he finished 5th out of 6, so it's an improvement.
Yatesfan takes 4th place followed by last year's Champion, Southern Pucks who finished in 5th place this year.
N. Dakota Warriors started the season strong but fell off towards the end of the year. They finished in 6th place for their first season.
Then there was JT Habs over Helton Penguins in the battle of the ghost teams.
That concludes the 2nd season for UHL Center Ice. I hope to see most of you return next season and maybe we can get a few more teams as well. We'll discuss the issues of keepers sometime prior to the start of next year.
honestly, dominating in a points style league wasn't anymore fun than dwelling at the bottom of a H2H league.
I will say I am slowly becoming a casual hockey fan........I watch what the Hawk players do or the stars of the league. Ovechkin didn't dominate this year, but I'll take him over ANY player in the league.
