Change to Phoenix Cup series results

There has been a big change to the Cup results from Phoenix. Ryan Smith emailed me and informed me that he submitted picks during the off week for Phoenix, even though he did not indicate that in his email. I thought he was just submitting them not realizing the series was off that week. 

His picks were good enough to bump him all the way up to 4th place. Therfore, everyone who originally was 4th to 42nd has been bumped down one. The change also caused most team points to change as well.

Trust me, I'm not any happier about it then you are I'm sure.  I'm still working on the revised standings, but here are the new results.

27th or 28th, I still stunk it up this week.

at least Stephen got our team another 10 points with the win.

Your hard work is always appreciated Lou!

Now if Ryan had better picks than me, I would have gone nuts and made even more work for you! Is there a way to set it up so no one can submit picks during an off week?

Yeah, take the form down, but if someone goes on vacation it wouldn't be fair if they couldn't submit.  I just wish they would tell me it was for next week. He just said that he had too many things on his plate and forgot to write it in the comments section. Hmmm...

Ouch, lost a top ten and 1 team point with that blunder. I copy the league picks every week and follow them during the race. I used to copy them on Thursday night but decided to wait till closer to the race to make sure I had the correct set of picks. It seems here latley there is always someone coming forth after the posted deadline stating why they should be allowed their set of picks. I dont completly understand the situation with Ryan and im not trying to single anyone out. But it is such disappointment to know that you added up these results by the set of picks that Lou has received from the League and posted for the League to veiw and then after the race things change because someone had picks that hit that "Grey Area" it really takes the air out of someone that gets knocked out of a top 10 when there so hard to get in this League, not to mention how Lou feels going through all the adding, changing pages, and write-ups then having to go change everything again and having to explain to the League why he changed things. Sorry about the rant, but this is happening way to often.

honestly, I am of the opinion Ryan did nothing wrong..........sure it would have helped to state he was picking early but a week ahead time was plenty of time to sort it out.

RTI did lose a team point in the ordeal, but its still early in the season.

I would say that current procedure and protocol should remain as is, it might be an inconvience at times, but overall it works pretty well.

I agree Matt, Ryan did nothing wrong.


Yes the procedure should remain, but it should be black or white not Grey. How do we decide what is allowed, I could not get to my computer, My internet was down, My cat run off with my mouse, and so on. We have teams in this League that never miss a deadline and feel we are following the rules set forth by the League. And when the Results of a race is changed or someone notices a change in the pick sheet after the deadline, It makes some one think why is the deadline there. And I know people go on vacations, but its not that hard to email Lou and work something out. I just feel a Deadline is a Deadline period or its not a Deadline. Maybe it wont happen anymore this year who knows. Good Luck at Dega

I'm not sure why this is an issue because Ryan did make the deadline.

Its not an issue. I agree as I said in my last post, (I agree Matt, Ryan did nothing wrong). I was just talking about Deadlines and what it means to me. Was not pointing fingers or trying to change a rule. If I felt things were unfair for anyone then I would be making some noise in Council Chat. It was more of a discussion then anything. Sorry
