Beginning next week with the Talladega Race, the league will institute a new policy on lateness. It was voted on by the league council that if a member does not meet the deadline for their picks, they will lose half of the points they earned in the race. It will be rounded down if it's an odd number. If they are late the 2nd week in a row, they will receive 0 points, or the least amount of points. If a team that did hand their picks in received -10 points for the week, the team that didn't hand them in will receive -11 points and finish below them. If it happens three times in a row, they will be removed from the league.
This new policy will hurt a lot more than only losing 10 points because it will probably be virtually impossible to finish in the top half of the field. We realize there may be some times when a rare case may come up where you can't get your picks in. Some council members believed that you should receive 0 points no matter what, however we compromised.
This should be a fair way that will hurt a team but won't totally decimate them. If they do it 2 weeks in a row, then yes they should be at the bottom.
This will also be in effect for the Busch series as well.
...crack that whip. No excuses for people being late. If they are going to be out of town, the person can send picks a week in advance if they really care about the league.
