After getting feedback from a few people wo might be interested in attending a NASCAR race, Richmond seems to be a pretty popular choice. For those people on the east coast, it's not too far north or too far south.
I'm looking at the Mid may race, the one held just a few weeks ago. It has both a Busch and Cup race that weekend. They are both night races too, the Busch race on Friday and cup race on Saturday. This will allow people enough time to get back to work on Monday.
There is an airport in Richmond, so those members who live further away could fly in if they like.
Parking is free at Richmond Raceway too, according to their website.
So right now, I think this would be the best race to go to. Once I hear back from a few more people, I'll eventually email the league for those people that dont read to boards.
Night race sounds good Lou. Never been to one. ( Except at Atl., and it just worked out that way about 3-4 years ago. Got a great shot of me, Gordon's car and Truck blower at Start/finish line going by slow.) How far from airport to track? Maybe some of us could double up on hotel rooms. I'm a smoker but respectful of others. Probably be tipsy as well, go figure. Maybe I could share a cab with someone from airport to hotel.?

We'll have to look around at different companies, if anyone knows a good one, let me know. I've used Premier Sports Tours which are good, but they dont have that package up anymore.
Some people will not need hotels, those guys in Virginia. They can just get the tickets and meet us at the hotel we'd all be at. Some people may just want Cup tickets and not Busch ones. I personally would want both. I would want to stay Friday and Saturday nights, but probably come down on Thursday night and catch practice Friday afternoon. However, everyone may want to do something different.
We should be able to do a little better. Hotels.com for example. Maybe buy tickets from Richmond direct. Possibly a limo to and from track. I don't know, but I'll do some checking as well.

excellent! Richmond is only a 4-5 hour drive as long as you can avoid that nightmare called Washington DC. That traffic is horrible! If you pick this race I'm in, I have 11 months to kiss my wife's ass so she'll let me go. Might have to remodel the bathroom.
Re: So who is the axe murderer in disguise that will be coming along?
Yeah, because don't you know people always join NASCAR leagues with the hopes of a possible race they can go to in the future where they can kill their fellow members at a public racetrack so they can get ahead in the standings! lol
Ok, so Richmond seems to be the choice, haven't seen anyone say it's a bad track or race to go to.
Next we need a general idea of how many people want to go to both the Bush and cup race that weekend.
I personally like to see everything thats going on the track that weekend. Practice, qualifying, both races. Plus in between each event is a great time to walk around, visit vendors, possibly hunt down drivers for autographs, and just party.
