Truex Jr. close to re-signing with DEI: on Speed Channel's NASCAR This Morning, DEI's Richie Gillmore said they are close to signing Martin Truex. Jr. to a 3-year deal [with a 3 year option] and the contracts are in the laywers hands and hope to have something to announce in a few weeks.(6-5-2005)
On Pre-race they said it was Roush close to signing him. What a coupe that would be. Chevy got Gordon from Ford. A little pay back maybe. NOBODY knows till he signs.

SDR, what we heard on pre-race was just silly season rumor and speculation.
If anyone was really in the 'know', I would think it would be Richie Gilmore. Besides that, two weeks ago, Truex said himself that all he wanted was to come up with DEI and the legalities just needed to be worked out.
Hey, he's a great driver whose name has been mentiond with almost every single team because they all want him.
If DEI doesn't give him a good contract then he should go somewhere else. He's worth it.
I'll follow him no matter who he races for. Truex is the man. Wouldn't surprise me if he's battling for the championship within his first couple of Nextel Cup years.
Maybe DEI should fire Jr.'s arse and put Truex in there.
