I know the new Busch teams would definately say yes, but for those teams that have been here longer, would you be opposted to more than 43 cars in the field in a race?
I don't want to add more now... unless of course teams drop out... which may happen to Hamar Racing this week.
But we could guarantee a spot at the end of the year to the highest finishing Busch team not in the Cup series yet.
So next year we would have 44 teams, in 07 we would have 45 teams... etc.
Or should we just stick with 43 teams always, the count of an official Nextel Cup field?
I'm relatively new, but 43 seems to be the number. Make it a privalge to be a member or maybe a second Cup league. Racing points get diluted enough with 43. Just my thoughts.

Well that would definately be no to a 2nd Cup league, unless someone else in the league ran the whole thing basicly. It's enough for the Busch and Cup league each weekend.
I'm just happy to be in the busch league, and wait my turn for the cup promotion. Keep it to what has worked in the past, and let the rookies wait our turn. thanks lou. Or should I say King Louis.
A view from another outsider looking in, I say keep it at 43. Thats the one thing that sold me on this League, The familiarity of racing 42 drivers or Teams instead of 100 or more. I have no problem waiting for my chance to run in the Nextell. Theres records to be broke in the Busch League and Teams to try and catch. Good Luck at Nashville
well I'm not an 'official' original coming five races into the first season, but my thoughts (as always) are vocal here:
43 is the perfect number for this league........look at all the updating you do now and you're still strapped for time (i.e.- Breakdown).
one option you could look into is promote the highest finishing non-Cup Busch team for the year. and to keep the field at 43, demote the last place team and anyone else who is like 800-1000 points behind the leader.
this would encourage competition in the Cup and Busch Leagues and also transfer a Busch team who deserves a Cup chance as well as demote a team in Cup who just isn't ready to play with the big dogs yet.
(maybe a 43 wide Lucky Dog vote with majority ruling could be held)
Yeah, I was thinking more on this, and I don't like the idea of sending teams down. I mean it's easy to think of those other teams that are down in the standings, but how about yourself?
I mean if you had a bad year at some point, would you like the idea of being removed from the Cup league for the whole year, and not getting another shot until possibly the next year? It can happen to anyone whether you like it or not. Green Flag Racing finished 3rd last year, do you think she'd be where she is now? If I had a bad year, I know I woulnt want to take myself out. What's worse, is that it could happen to my wife. I have to live with her.... I can just imagine hearing it from her all the time that I kicked her out. LOL, no thanks.
To me, what you have to look at this "game" boils down to luck. Racing knowledge certainly helps to a degree but it still comes down to luck. Be harsh to be sent down because of some bad racing luck. I don't like the 1000 point send down either. I mean, dang I started 1200+ points down. Yes I missed some races but was happy to join. Gives me something to shoot for even starting last not to finish last. Its not much but its still something. Should I be sent down because I got in late?

Why is everyone assuming that all 43 teams will remain? Once the "playoffs"/last 10 races begin, people will disappear. As long as they are reliable pickers, keep them. Those in the Busch League will just have to wait their turn.
