Both teams are tied right now but watch as the Mets go past your Braves this week.....
Still nobody's advantage in the tight tight NL east though. I think the Braves have to go into a tailspin soon to break things up a bit. 3-7 in their last 10 and plagued with injuries.... looks like it might happen.
Plus the Mets signed Danny Graves to help their bullpen, there's a power shift right there.
Mets play the 21-34 Padres with Martinez on the mound tonight. Guaranteed win right there.
Atlanta playing the Angels who are 18-13 on the road, think the Angels will take that series.
Man this is getting old, like 14 years old. You Mets fan shovel the dirt on the big bad Atlanta death grip on the NL east and then poof Braves win the divison for umphteen time. If you win it this year, I'll be the first one to say job well done. Until that time you can enjoy your little tie with the Braves....
I'm actually taking pride in the fact that all the teams in our division have winning records while other divisions all have two teams below .500!
as for the Mets winning? gimme a break, Padres are good enough to beat you guys.
as for the Braves, yeh they are hurting right now with Chipper and the pitchers on DL, and lets not forget that play last night............but thats the thing with Bobby Cox, he also has a great farm system and will just bring up a minor leaguer to make you guys look silly.
Let's look at the records on Sunday and see whos on top.
all those teams do have winning records but they are all 1-4 games over .500 thats not saying to much go sox 19 games over .500 and the padres record is 34- 23 there 1rst in the west
The White Sox play in the most watered down division in baseball. Although I must admit I like seeing them in first. As for the Mets get it while you can. I mean the entire Braves team is on the DL and still hangin tough. I know you Mets fans are tired of the Braves pounding you year in and year out, it must be frustrating for you. The Braves will wrap up their 14th Division in a row this year and have already acomplised what no sports team in ANY sport could not, 13 in a row. You are watching history and this streak will never be broken by any team in any sport!!!! Kicking the Braves right now is like kicking your friends Grandmother. GO BRAVOS!!

Re: and the padres record is 34- 23 there 1rst in the west
Sorry, I meant the Mets were playing Houston this series, not the Padres. Don't know where I got that from.
Well all NL East teams won again last night, so no change there. The Mets game was great, Pedro was amazing, almost had a no-hitter going. Plus there was nearly a bench clearing brawl after Cliff Floyd was intentionally hit by a pitch. Was waiting for Martinez to retaliate, but nothing happened. Maybe it will carry over to tonight.

You certainly are confused. First you are a jersey guy who roots for an Atlanta team. You have season tix for Cleveland Browns and Miami Dolphins.

I believe since the Mets inception, they lead the Braves 2-1 in world series rings.
sorry, but two world series titles and who knows how many years being shut out of the playoffs does not equate to one world series title and 14 straight years in the playoffs with many of those years leading all the way to the world series.
its better to have a chance at winning it all than to know you will be shut out yet again.

I started rooting for the Braves back in 1982 with Murphy&Horner because they were on every day on TBS for free. The stupid Mets&Nets were on Sports Channel which was a premium at the time. At the time who the hell was going to pay to watch those two losers. Well the Nets were decent but come on. Same thing with the Knicks&NY Rangers, they were on free on MSG.
As far as the football tickets go. When I used to fly, we would to go watch Dad's team the dolphins. Nothing like 80 degree weather in Nov or Dec. It just made sense for us to get season tickets instead of paying through the nose for scalping.
Galaxy Inc. Buy a vowel. If you choose to toy with your mind yet another year feel free!! The Braves streak will certainly end sometime, just not this year. Until Pedro pitches every night the Mets don't have a chance. The Richmond/ Myrtle Beach Braves will still beat the Mets. I think Marlins or Philly has the best chance to finally unseat the Braves. Tooz put it pretty good. A chance is better than no chance, at least the Braves where there. I wonder if your fantasy baseball team is doing better than your racing team?? I hope so.

I always remember watching the Mets on Channel 9 throughout the 80's and part of the 90's. I can't recall if every game was on or not, but I know there were a lot. Plus I went to quite a few ball games at Shea Stadium too. How many Braves games did you go to?
But whatever team you watch for most of your life, I guess thats who you are gonna root for, no matter how bad they suck. Guess thats why I'm still a NY Ranger fan, lol.
Mets still lead the Braves in World Series titles though, doesn't matter how many times you win the divison.
I bet the Braves trophy case looks better than the Mets. I admit this year could go south quick playin so many rookies(9 on roster) We'll see how it goes. Braves just got some help in the draft. Relief pitcher from NC State should be in Atlanta as soon as the All- star break.

I didn't say the Braves suck.... but now that you mention it....
Ok... so the Braves have a more division win trophies than the Mets.
They've only been in the World Series 1 more time than the Mets have... 5 times. Mets have been there 4 times with a 2-2 record. Braves have a 1-4 record.
And the most important fact.... Mets fans actually care about their team. How many sellouts have the Braves had? They cant even sell out playoff games.

Okay now here is something I can agree with you on. Atlanta the city, is by far the worst when it comes to supporting their pro teams. They should be ashamed when you can walk up to the window and buy a playoff ticket for the Braves. They got one of the best football players in the league and don't sell out and the hawks are just terrible. Must be the water down there.
Well at least Turner Field is head and shoulders above Shea. Tell Wilpon to call Woody Johnson and build you guys a new stadium in Queens somewhere.
Atlanta has too many transplants here. Most loyalites already lie elsewhere. And yes. We have been to so many play-off game that the town just takes the Braves for granted. If you'll check though Authur Blank has sold-out the past 11 straight games for the Falcons. As for the Hawks..Would you pay too watch them?? The Falcons have one of the larger stadiums as well. Offical attendance is listed about 78,500 but standing room only tics have been selling bringing the total to about 80,000. Thats not bad. Also next time you see the Coons at home check the crowd. Their certainly not sitting on their hands.
There has been talk of building a new stadium adjacent to Shea, but haven't heard of anything lately. If the Yanks get a new stadium, then the Mets will definately get one.
Mets definately need a new stadium. Shea is one of the oldest ones out there, that isn't a classic stadium like Yankee Stadium, Wrigley Field or Fenway Park.
I've seen pictures of what they want to build for the Mets, looks nice... a classic stadium look to it resembling Ebbets Field with a retractable roof. Doubt it will get built though.
The dome is nice. Resturants, bars everywhere. Maybe Demon will take me next year as he has season tics. And oh my the ladies!! Some very nice dishes here. They don't call it Hotlanta for nothing. The problem with Atlanta is there's just too much to do here. Concerts( Music Midtown this week-end featuring over 200 Top Acts) Bars, golfing, resturants..etc. You could go broke trying to do everything here. Braves are on TV every nite. You can bet on 70% of TV's in town. Thats why they don't sell-out.

I heard during the hawk games the p.a announcer knows all the fans in the stands by their first name. All 20 of them. Maybe they should just let you guys in for free until they start winning.
Put your Dome in any other nothern city and that thing would be sold out for years.

Too much to do... so how do you explain New York? The Yankees have been in more playoff games than you can count... there are countless things to do in the city, more than Atlanta... yet playoff games sell out for most of the teams in the city I'm sure.
