Man when it rains it pours. Just talked with Marty of Yates fan Racing. He wanted me to let everyone know his parents where in a horrible accident last night coming to his house for vacation. His mom didn't make it and his dad was taken via life flight to a Pittsburg hospital and is in critical condition. He wanted to let LD folks know he wouldn't be around the site for a while. Lets all pray for him and his family at this time.

I hope his Dad pulls through and sorry to here his Mom didnt make it. My parents live 600 miles away and when they come to see me, I worry the whole time that thier on the road. They have to come through the Black Mountains on US40 and go through Knoxville and Nashville. I cant imagine what hes going through now, but I will be thinking about him and hope hes alright.
My God, that's terrible. I feel so bad for him. He will be with us in our thoughts and prayers. Hopefully his dad can make it through.
It's certaintely more than understandble that he won't be around for awhile, however we'll keep his same picks for a number of weeks and enter him in the Busch races for awhile. That way he won't fall too far behind. When he's ready to come back, I'm sure he will let us know.
Yeah thanks guys. Haven't heard a thing back yet. It's been a trying day for all. It's times like this that put our every day problems in perspective. I appreciate you guys concern. I'm sure he does also. All we can do is hope and pray and god will handle the rest.

All surgerys went well, the doc said his pain is reduced. He never opened his eyes while i was there so i guess he was just getting some well deserved rest. i know its not even forth of july yet but doc said if hes trying to walk by then end of the year we will be lucky. thanks for the support people i and my family sure do need it! Went to see dad today, for like 30 seconds!!!.. They said he would be gone from 2-330 and out till 5. got there a 415 and they were just taking him away, said something came up(not to do with dad). then said the 1-1/2 procedure was now going to be close to 3 and that he would not wake up till about 10 tonight, so i came home. AND WAS I PISSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She did say that he was awake before the knockout pills went into affect. I will try again tomorrow and let yins(yall){whatever} know more. Marty
Well just a quick update for ya, dads on the road to recovery. Today the neck brace came off and a feeding tube went in the nose, the had to secure his left arm, because he can get it close to his mouth and they dont want him pulling on anything. The docs from Ortho signed off on their part, nothing more they can do, just time to heel-up. The hard part now will be telling him that he has lost his wife of 51 years!!! The mouthairway came out today, and they put in a trake(sp). He must be stiff cause he keeps trying to shrug his shoulders and move his arms, and wiggle his toes. His eyes were wide open today, and when he saw me i think he got scared, cause in my eyes he is one of the most strong hearted men i know. He's never been helpless in his life and i think he feels that way now, but he's my dad and he IS to dam stubbern to give in!!! and i know he won't. Thanks for all the replies. Marty
Well i had to leave work at noon today because the doc told everyone to come down because somthing was wrong. but after a few hrs they fixed it and everything is back to normal, or close to it. all things considering. So didn't get to make my busch picks but right now thats the least of my worries. right now i could use a hug, a beer, a shot, and a day off, and it dont matter in which order they come!! Thanks to all for everything, dad needs a lot of prayers!! Marty ps. heading to the airport to get my sis who is landing from Conn. What a busy day!!
It really takes alot to pull some moisture from this eye...I've seen more and still dream more than I wish. Believe me, my family prays every night for yours. I only wish I could wave a magic stick and change it all. Luv ya man. GB
