This is a topic currently being discussed by the Council and brought up a few problems that some of us may have run into.
No one wants to miss a race and of course no one wants to be penalized for the internet suppliers screwing with your connections, so here are just a few helpful ideas that each of you might want to consider if you have this problem.
1 - have a laptop? head to your nearest Wi-Fi hotspot and all your problems are solved.
2 - have a cell phone with unlimited internet? again, problem solved even if it takes longer to submit your picks (worth it considering the penalties)................one thing though, if you dont have unlimited internet, don't use this option, it can get very pricey, very QUICKLY!
3 - relative with internet? always a good reason to come over and 'visit' LOL
4 - live near a public library? libraries always offer free internet service, only problem is getting an appointment time into the computer if alot of people in your area utilize this service.
5 - all else fails - designate a teammate to make picks for you in advance to save yourself a penalty. (important to remember, you have to let the Prez know ahead of time that this particular person is allowed to submit your picks)
encourage every team leader to know the email and password of the members on his team, and maybe cell phone numbers that way he can help a teamate in need! i had to use this last year and lou, larry, gwen helped me out! thanks again guys!
Unless you and your teammate are tied with one week to go for the championship...do you put his picks in? Bet ya dont answer that call!!! lol

I like that idea. That may even help some teams with there strategys too. You need a text service...something like this
"Text the word submit picks to the number 58259(lucky) to submit your picks for the upcoming race" standard text charges may apply see carrier for details!

I offered the option of letting people text their entries in if needed and it come in handy for some of the players. Good think I have unlimited everything on my phone huh? LOL
Now if I can just get internet service on my phone I'd be set. wooohoo!!!
I have T-mobile in the Chicagoland area and I'll tell ya, the internet service on my Blackberry is SLOW.....someone told me a long text message history will slow that down, but I'm not sure about that one.
