Rain,rain go away

Rain starts with just 9 cars left to qualify? Man, won't that trash some Lucky Dog racers! I've only got one ringer myself. R. Gordon would go from 2nd to 39th. What a difference, eh? Hopefully the rain will stop and the Busch boyz get their race in too.

I'll have to double check, but I believe my two Ringers got in on Car Owner Points.  yippeee! (especially since one was my Superstar!)

All the ringers will be in the race except for Chris Cook and Tom Hubert. I don't believe anyone had them, so everyone's good.

I'll just go and bask in my Busch victory now

if you won the Busch race, can I count on you to already have the results up now? (truck race ended like ten minutes after the Glen race.)

If Pruett's in its in a different car than posted for Q'ing. Doesn't that disqualify anyone using those points?

good point.

if you picked Pruett to run in the race, I'm sure you were picking him for the #39 car.

If he races in the #40 car, I don't think you should get points for where he ends up because that would normally be Marlin's ride.

Your Pruett pick should be scored as 'Failed to qualify'.

How do you figure? Pruett is still going to be in the race. He is still going to get points.

It shouldn't matter if he switched cars after qualifying.

We've had driver substitions in the past and nobody has complained.

Remember Reed Sorenson who couldnt qualify for that one Busch race but got another ride after qualifying? People got points for him and I didn't hear one person mutter any complaints about that issue.

actually I remember talking about this very issue when that race was going on.  All I'm saying (and i think SDR as well) is that if you pick Pruett to run in one car and that car doesnt qualify, you shouldnt get points for him.  The only people that should get Pruett's points should be the teams that picked Sterling Marlin.

The reason for this is simple. The #40 is in the race. The #39 is not.

At best, this is a gray issue in the rule book and whatever you decide, I think it could be spelled out better or more exact. For me, I've always understood that if I picked a car that wasn't in the race on race day, then I would not get that drivers points.

Well because of the driver subsitution rule, people who picked Marlin (only one) will get Pruett's points.

I really don't think people should be penalized for picking Pruett since he IS in the race and will be earning his own points. It shouldn't matter if he is in a different car # or not.

I suppose the rules will have to be clarified more precisely on issues like these. The council will need to vote on what the actual rule should be and how it should be worded.

For this week though, people who picked Pruett will get his points for him driving in the #40 car. YatesFan will also get Pruett's points for picking Marlin.  Yes, if he had picked Pruett and Marlin, he would be getting the same points for that one driver. I'm not quite sure how I would list it though.

Well I guess 12 teams are all breathing a sigh of relief now, many of which chose Pruett (in the #39) as a Superstar.

I'm glad there was a decision made before the race since there were a number of teams involved.

I haven't been on the board much laterly... but here is my thoughts.  Yes I'm one of the affected teams that picked pruett.  I didn't pick pruett for the car he would be in, I picked him for himself.  Since like Lou said .. all drivers get there own points no matter what car they drive it. Being we are 2/3 of the way through the year I think this should be something discussed for next years rules.  Ok.. thats just my opinion take it or leave.  Have a good race.  Good Luck to the winner.  ME......lol

Problem is rules state you are picking the car not the driver....

"Essentially you are picking car numbers rather than drivers anyway."
