We arrived back home last night after our week in Charlotte. We had a great time down there, saw lots of stuff and took tons of pictures. Hopefully I'll get some up by the end of the weekend.
So we went to both races including the qualifying session at Charlotte. We were down in the infield and right down by the stage at Cup driver intros. Unfortunately I couldn't get much good pictures at the intros, people kept getting in my way. I did get some high-five's from Tony Stewart, Jimmie Johnson, Elliott Sadler and a couple of other drivers.
Autographs - got tons of autographs from drivers. a number of drivers were signing at their trailers so I bought 1/24 diecasts for each of them and they signed it. Those drivers David Reutimann, Kurt Busch, Justin Allgaier, David Ragan, Joey Logano, Sam Hornish Jr. I was even telling Justin Allgaier about Lucky Dog Racing, he said it sounded cool. He liked the name, lol.
Down in the infield I was lucky enough to get Danica Patrick's autograph, twice!
There was also a Nationwide drivers signing so we got tons of autographs there. Kenny Wallace, Mike Wallace, Steve Wallace, Ryan Truex, Brendan Gaughan, Justin Allgaier again, Parker Kligerman, Michael McDowell, Reed Sorenson, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Trevor Bayne, Colin Braun, David Starr, Robert Richardson Jr., Joe Nemechek, Morgan Shepherd (who came in rollerskates). There may have been a couple other drivers that I can't remember.
We went to the NASCAR Hall of Fame which is an amazing place. I'm glad we got to go in its first year to see the Dale Earnhardt exhibit. When the next class is inducted, all of the items on exhibit from the pervious class will be returned to their owners. Took some great pics there.
We went to most of all the team shops as well, Hendrick Motorsports and Jr. Motorsports. At Jr. Motorsports we saw Aric Almirola doing a photo session from NASCAR Illustrated.
At Roush Racing, Jack Roush walked right past me! Also saw Robby Loomis there as well. Petty Enterprises is now in the Roush complex.
Went to Joe Gibbs Racing and Michael Waltrip Racing where David Reutimann walked past me.
First time shops for us included Red Bull Racing we saw Aric Almirola in the garage there as well, that's when he was supposed to be in the #83 car, of course that changed. Also went to new shops for Martin Turex Jr. and Kasey Kahne and even blah.... Kyle Busch.
The final day consisted of RCR where went to the museum and inside the Cup shop for the first time. Also stopped at Kevin Harvick Inc. who has a really cool shop. His was my favorite I think, because you're not behind glass and the balcony that you can go on is pretty low to the garage so you feel like you are right in it. Delana Harvick did a nice job decorating it to. Kevin's crewmembers were tossing us some souvenirs before they took off for lunch.
didnt know that exhibits got pulled after the next class goes in.............thanks for letting us know that............I was waiting until Pearson got inducted before going, but now, I have to/get to go two years in a row.
Do you know when exhibits get changed? after they are inducted? before?
I believe its after they are inducted. I'll try to get pics up during the week. Didn't have any time yet with trying to get caught up with all the updates.
