Man, what a messed-up race. Between JJ and Newman the chase just got boring after 2 races. What da puk? Doesn't seem right to put a plate race in the chase to me. I hope they change Dega to an eariler date, maybe the last race before the chase. That should slow the wrecks eh? huh?lol At least drivers wouldn't be penalized for the sure to happen boneheaded moves that can't really be helped! Down with plates period I say. If they're scared to drive fast they can stay on the porch. ...again, just my thoughts.

That's not a bad idea to get rid of the plates for the chase. I really would like to see Daytona be the race that starts and end the season but that's just me. Too many things go wrong and it doesn't matter where you are unless its up front.
Well I know that NASCAR wants to run a certain percentage of each type of race in the chase. Running plate races, finishing and winning them is part of what makes a driver a champion. I should kick myself for saying this, but look at all the plate races that Jeff Gordon has won.

Hey, lets throw a figure 8 race in there too!! Come on guys, lets talk percentages. 4 out of 36 races is PLATE, 2 out of 36 races is road. 6 out of 36 is still a small percentage. Buy a vowel my brothers PLEASE!! Ovals are NA$CAR. Short, medium, Super Speeedway(1.5 miles) is the norm! I know you guys know this, work with me. Plate races sux the big one. Doesn't matter who was fastest, best driver or pit stratagy was. I strongly disagree with Lou saying Champions win the plates. Check the record. Rarely do plate winners win the "whoever is payng the most this year Cup". Fans should boycott these races. They were suppost to be safer! HUH??? Exactly......another "just my thoughts" from SDR.

Check your facts, plate races and short track races are the 2 most popular types of racing. Just because YOU don't like plate races, doesn't mean that everyone feels that way.
Drivers hate the plate races, and fans love them. Because it's the fans that keep the sport going, plate races are not going anywhere, so just get used to them.

The fact that they finished with a winning season. The fact that they have 2 World Series Titles while the Braves will only have one in my lifetime.
And sorry, the Mets have already made the playoffs in your lifetime. At least when they do make the playoffs, they make something of it. Last time they went to the World Series.

Yes another year where we choke again. Already down 0-1 and with Roger on the mound in game 2 it doesn't look good. I rather have a chance in the playoffs then be sitting home like the Mets,Dodgers,Orioles. 3 teams with good size payrolls or teams willing to spend that are sitting home. Not like, the Royals or Devil Rays which never have a chance. This was our year to rebuild and poof another divison title. Its the Cardinals year anyway and only Houston has a chance to beat em. Can you believe bosox down 2-0 with Bill Buckner playing second base last night?

cookie cutters may be the norm now, but short tracks were all the rage once upon a time.
why are the cookie cutters popular? seating capacity. That is why I think more superspeedways will be built in the next ten years. two tracks will equal four races the way its been going and therefore equal out the ratios.
Or do you disagree with that too?
