After months of speculation, the rumors came to light as Best Buy and Intimidator Racing mutually agreed to part ways following the conclusion of the 2005 season. Best Buy signed on as primary sponsor for a two year contract at the beginning of the 2004 season. The team found victory lane twice. However, they have yet to win this year even though they are in the chase.
Best Buy decided they wanted to branch off into a more primary sponsorship role in the NASCAR Series. It was announced that they would become the primary sponsor for the #0 car and Jeff Green would be the new driver.
While they probably would have continued to sponsor the #138 car in Lucky Dog Racing, it was best decided they not.
Lead driver of the #138 car, Lou Demian had this to say: "Props to Best Buy for their desire to sponsor a Nextel Cup car. We feel honored we had a chance to work with them before they even were interested in the sport. However.... no offense to Jeff Green but..... would you really want to drive the same car as JEFF GREEN??"
Jeff Green had no comment
"We have been working with a new company to sponsor the #138 car in 2006. We announce that Kraft Foods have agreed to come on board and sponsor us with their Oreo Cookies brand. We are thrilled to have Oreos as a sponsor, and the team is looking forward to all those free cookies! We hope to give Best Buy one last win, but are looking for many more with Oreos on board. After all, it's America's favorite cookie!"
Oreo is no stranger to sponsorship. They were an associate sponsor of Dale Earnhardt and now Dale Earnhardt Jr. They were the primary sponsor of several of Dale Jr.'s Busch Series cars over the last few years at Daytona. They also sponsored their Golden Oreo on Martin Truex Jr.'s Busch car at Lowe's Motor Speedway in 2004. Oreos is also an associate sponsor in Lucky Dog Racing for Baldridge Racing and Rock Bottom Racing.
No offence Lou but Speed Demon Racing has the best sponcer. I mean think about it. Hot wings, cold beer and of course the lovely Hooters girls! Not to mention they already have a Cup championship under their belt! I've been told they expect me to make some noise in the 2006 season (on the track...lol) I'm honored to driver for such a vaulity organization. Good luck with all those cookies buddy. Be careful though, to many will weight your car down! Lol
Peace

I never expected that to happen! Shock throughout the forum area. Intimidator Racing without Best Buy will be like Peanut Butter without Jelly.. but I think both will cope. Good luck to both in their new places in 2006.
After a long sit down 12 pack lunch at 30 Germania Street Boston, Mass. Jim Koch gave Zipperhead Racing a vote of confidence for 2006. Not to mention a keg of Octoberfest(in stores now). We like to thank Jim and all that he does for Zipperhead Racing and for this great country of ours. The only changes to be made in 2006 is stopping the good luck bottle of beer in the gas tank before the race. We will now actually drink the bottle before the race.
Speedy, you might be right about your sponsor. Wings being wash down with a cold Sam's is the way to go.
What the heck! I can not belive you were sucking down beers 25 minutes from my house and not even a how do you do! Had a 6 of the Qctoberfest on the weekend and a draft at supper this week sweet. I think I like it on draft best. Having one now
I wish I was there....I just know where the brewery is by heart after attending a couple of beer festivals. I have been to ever brewery in Jersey too except three and I'll knock them out before summer starts. I'll email you when I do get a chance to visit the holy shrine of beer. I hear Boston is an excellent day trip city. I'll be knocking down a couple before the game on Sunday in the parking lot.
