There are a number of records still up for grabs and some that have been clinched already for the league stats this year.
Avg. standings points: This is a new catagory this year since the points system was changed for 2005. This is the NASCAR points system that we use in our standings. We have two teams that can take this record at Homestead and receive a special plaque. They are Pappy's Drivers who currently leads with an average of 117.9 points per race and Miller Motorsports who has a 117.1 avg. Helton Motorsports is up there right now with 117.4 points but is inelligble for the award since you have to run more than 3/4 of the races in the season.
Avg. race points: This catagory changed a little from last year because of the scoring change. Last year this was the Total Avg. points catagory, where we combined your bonus top 10 points and driver points. Last year JJR finished with an average of 63.4 points per race. This year the record will be broken with 2 teams who have the chance. They are... Pappy's Drivers again, who currently leads with an average of 75.3 and Intimidator Racing who has 74.9.
Best Average finish: Just as it sounds, the team that has the best average finish for the season. Last year, JJR finished with a 10.2 average. His record will stay safely intact this year. You can tell it's much tougher this year because the leader has an average of 16.2. That would be Miller Motorsports. Pappy's Drivers is just right behind him with 16.3.
Best picks average: This is the average of your 5 weekly drivers. The better your drivers finish, the lower your average is. Last year, Green Flag Racing took this honor with an average of 14.87. This year the record could be broken. Currently the leader is CrazyAboutrusty2 who has seen his average go up as he struggled over the past couple of weeks. If he can hold on, he will take the award. Next closest team is Pappy's Drivers with an average of 14.74.
There are no awards for these, but you will get an honorable mention on the archives page and in your highlights as well...
Most driver wins: Gasitnpassit currently has picked the most race winners this season at 18. Bump And Go Racing still has a chance to tie him next week. Last year's record was 15 held by JJR.
Most driver top 5's: The most drivers picked who finished between 2nd and 5th place. Pappy's Drivers and Shawnda's Redneck Racing are both tied at 41. Miller Motorsports is right behind with 40 and Top Dawgs has 39. The old record was 39 held by the defunct team, Team Echo Motorsports last year.
Most driver top 10's: The most drivers picked who finished between 6th and 10th place. Baldridge Racing is leading this catagory with 37 drivers. There are four teams behind him that have 35. They are: Jeffjoeracing, Jeff Burton Racing, Rock Bottom Racing and Fast Eddie Racing. The old record was 31 held by Green Flag Racing last year.
Most Driver laps led: All your drivers you picked this year that led at least one lap during the race. Intimidator Racing has already clinched the record this year with 85 drivers. He broke last years record of 74 which was held by Intimidator Racing and Jerry Jones Racing.
Most most laps led: The amount of drivers you picked this year that ended up leading the most laps in a race. Jerry Jones Racing is leading this catagory with 15 drivers. Suezbele Racing, has a chance of tying JJR next week. However, the record will not be broken this year, which is 17, held by Syracuse Alpine Racing.
Most poles: The amount of polesitters picked. Intimidator Racing and NASCAR Fan Racing are fighting it out for this one this year. Both teams have 16 polesitters. Intimidator Racing held last years record of 15 which was broken this year.
This record won't be mentioned too much since we are dropping the superstar picks next year, but High Octane has made the most out of his, so far scoring 830 points.
We still have the ongoing streaks of Jerry Jones Racing with a driver leading a lap every race that has now reached 66 races. Also, Pappy's Drivers has had at least one driver as a winner or in the top 5 for every race this year too.
High Octane will get the record for most wins in a season unless Armchair Racing, Inc. wins at Homestead and will tie the record with him. If High Octane gets the lone record, he will be invited to participate in the LROC Series next year.
the record for most top 5 and top 10 finishes will be kept intact this year. JJR holds the record for most top 5's at 12 and Intimidator Racing holds the record for most top 10's at 20. Currently, Pappy's drivers leads the league this year in both catagories with 9 top 5's and 16 top 10's.
