Well the Cup Series Streak curse remains in effect once more. The record that began in 2007 has been tied many times over the past few years but never broken. Last week Greg Eichele tied it for the 2nd time and had the chance to break it this week. Unfortunately it did not come to be.... by just one spot. Greg chose Carl Edwards who finished just outside the top 10 in 11th place, bummer!
He also chose Todd Bodine whole fell out early in the Truck race, so while he was gaining all kinds of points on the points leader, Lou Demian, he doesn't get any points this week. Lou was able to gain 30 points on him and now leads by 78 points.
Well, while the Cup streak curse remains in effect for another week, we will have yet another chance for it to be broken next weekend in Michigan. Ron Blackman tied it this week after picking Dale Earnhardt Jr. It has now been tied for the 9th time. Will it finally be broken before we hit 10 times? We'll know some Sunday.
Ron had the high score of the week with 43 points. Stephen DiCaprio was 2nd with 33 points and Ray Perrotta 3rd with 31 points.
This week 5 members were successful in both races while 6 members were successful in 1 out of 2. 6 members bombed out in both races.
Well, scratch that... No record will be broken at Michigan. On further review, Ron Blackman picked Dale Earnhardt Jr. who was already used in his streak. That makes his Cup streak pick null and void.
The scores will be adjusted later tonight but obviously he does not have the top score for the week. Top score now goes to Stephen DiCaprio followed by Ray Perrotta and Lou Demian.
