As expected, Talladega played havoc with the streak picks. Not so much with the Truck race, but the Cup race only had 2 successful picks. The only player to escape Talladega with successful picks in both series was Greg Eichele who picked Jeff Gordon and Timothy Peters. He had the high score of the week with 45 points. He was also the only player to gain a spot in the standings after climbing up one to 6th place.
Ron Blackman was the only other member to successfully pick in the Cup series but he missed out in the Truck series. His pick of race winner Matt Kenseth allowed him to stretch his streak to 4 weeks and score 30 points.
Terry Howell had the 3rd highest score with 24 points. His pick of Kurt Busch pushed his Truck streak to 4 weeks.
Points leader Lou Demian saw his Cup streak end but did reach three weeks in the Truck series. He only scored 19 points but outscored the rest of the top 5 in the standings. He now has a 196 point lead. If he can keep the points coming, he could have a shot of winning the championship with the largest points lead. Right now the current record is 236 points when Jessy Turgeon won over Rene Nadeau in 2009.
