Last weekend at Kentucky we had a new record set for consecutive races with at least one lap leader per race. Kendall Moore held the record of 98 races, before that it was Shawn Jackson who held the record of 94 races for several years.
However we have a new record set as Gary Wheat goes 99 races. He'll have the shot to reach 100 races at Daytona which he should easily get since there are usually so many lap leaders on restrictor plate races. From there he'll just keep adding to the record until he misses one week.
Now we have a new lap leader streak. Joe Levis hit 101 consecutive weeks at Richmond, so congrats to the new leader! Joe will now try to extend his streak as long as he can.
