There have been lots of changes happening during the off-season for the Cup series in regards to members and teams. We're probably not done yet but here are the changes so far:
Who's in and who's out:
Three rookies will be starting at Daytona. Dione Baker finally comes up and is rumored to be teaming up with her husband Leon Baker.
Joseph Cardwell comes up from the Nationwide series and so does Fred Sanchez.
Since we have three rookies, that means three people are leaving. Mitch McCown leaves after 2 full seasons, Bill Walters and Natalie Jones leave after just one season.
Team changes:
Will Riney closes up shop for Southern Style Racing. Mitch McCown leave the league, Joe Levis looks like he is going solo and Terry Howell joins Randy Cook Racing
Will is joining a new team that is headed up by Jose Rodriguez who leaves Racing Traditions, Inc. They call themselves El Diablo and the Magic Men Motorsports. That's the longest team name so it should be fun for me trying to fit it into certain areas.... lovely. Joining Jose and Will is Greg Miller who leaves coast To Coast Racing and 2013 runner-up champion Ron Blackman.
Since Greg Miller left Coast To Coast Racing that opened a spot there and Kevin Sullivan filled it with Jack Thesier.
Jessy Turgeon left Slingshot Motorsports to join Racing Traditions, Inc. to replace Jose Rodriguez. Slingshot Motorsports will most likely carry on as a three car team.
We'll probably see another multi-car team with Leon and Dione Baker as a husband and wife duo.
So that's it for now, try to keep track of everything!
El Diablo and the Magic Men Motorsports is happy to announce full sponsorship of the #12 Chevrolet SS driven by two-time Lucky Dog Racing Sprint Cup Series Champion and Hall of Fame member Greg Miller.
The #12 Chevrolet SS will have full-year sponsorship from Target, with associate sponsors of TheCoolPool.com, Dunkin Donuts, Pepsi and VisitMyrtleBeach.com.
Miller joins a new team in 2014 with a new outlook, win win win! After capturing championships in each of his first two seasons (2005 & 2006), Miller has struggled in the Sprint Cup Series. Besides a team Championship with Coast to Coast Racing in 2011, and two race wins in 2013, there isn't much to write home about, and much improving to be done. EDATM³, Target and Miller are excited for the new season to begin!
