Well, nobody ever said that making picks at a plate track is easy, it's either hit or miss. Unfortunately it was all misses for everyone in the Cup race. Not sure if it's happened before but not that I can recall, Everyone's pick in the Cup race finished outside the top 10. We had a few streaks that were trying to tie the Cup record but all streaks are now reset back to zero.
While the Cup record wasn't tied, the long running Nationwide record was. Ray Perrotta was able to tie the 16 week record set by Lou Demian last year. He even did it by picking the winner, Kasey Kahne. That gave him a total of 90 points for the week, and gave him a 50 point advantage over the next highest score. Ray is now starting to pull away with his points lead and is showing everyone that he is the person to beat this year. He now has a 156 point lead over Dean Higley.
Jeff Nieser had the 2nd highest score of 40 points. He has a pretty decent Nationwide streak of 7 weeks, the 2nd longest active streak. Hurricane Sidwell took 3rd place with 21 points.
So other than Ray's points total, scores were very low this week. 8 of the 16 members, that's half of the field scored 0 points.
