Ray Perrotta really didn't have a lot of competition for most of the season. Lou Demian and Greg Eichele had closed the gap a few times but neither was really able to get too close to him to really battle with him. Ray easily held on the final few weeks and wins the Streak to the Finish for the first time in his career. Ray had come close a couple of times, the closest was in 2010 when he lost by just 6 points to Stephen DiCaprio.
His big highlight this season and what probably helped him win the championship was when he went on a 16 race Nationwide streak.His biggest Cup streak was 4 weeks and biggest Truck streak was 5. His biggest points week was 107 points in week #18
He ended the season with a total of 1763 points and won by 127 points over Lou Demian. Ray now becomes just the 5th different champion in the 8 year history.
Ray ended the season with a total of 72 points, one more than Lou Demian who finished 2nd in the standings. There wasn't any movement in the standings in the final week.
High score of the week went to Ron Blackman with 81 points and Terry Howell took 2nd with 73 points.
