In Depth: Daytona

Something interesting to follow this year is the addition of a possibility to add a 6th driver and an extra 20k to spend on our driver combinations. With that in mind, I will try to take a look at how much players will go with one or the other. For the first race of the season, no less than 38 players went with 6 drivers versus only 8 with 5. Of course, Daytona being what it is, I am not very surprised by that statistic. I feel like the more wheels you got on the track, the better your odds are.

The Penske cars have shown a lot of speed throughout the week and with their relatively low cap hit, nobody will be surprised to know that the trio of the 2, 12 and 22 are the 3 most popular drivers this week.

I am surprised that nobody took former Daytona 500 winner Jamie McMurray this week. William Byron gathering only one pick somewhat surprised me as well.

Something sure, the new rules have given us an incredible variety of drivers, which looks promising for the season!
