So here we are at another road course event. Seems like there's always some kind of issue here. Well with the last event some people suggested that the salaries be raised for the road course "ringers"
Do you feel they should be increased more than the standard 5k for drivers not in the top 35?
These races are unique in that some team owners will replace their normal drivers with these road course veterans. Some rides are in the top 35 owner points and some aren't.
The problem is, how do you sort out the salaries? Would you list Boris Said's salary the same as say... Chris Cook who was in this race last year? Some of these drivers are guaranteed to make the race while others are not.
Do you use the same salary as the guy that he's replacing? Don't think that would really work since Ron Fellows replaced Bobby Hamilton Jr. in the Tide car last year. Big difference there.
It's a tricky subject, but if anyone has any ideas, please post them. We won't have enough time to have something new in place for Sonoma this weekend, but we can probably make it for Watkins Glen.
well, personally, i am not in Cup anymore, but i think as long as the car they are driving is not top 35, 5k........if the car is top 35, maybe 10 or 15k..........but rules should be the same for every driver whether they are road ringers or short track kings, they should all have the same rules behind them.......just my two cents as always
