What would you think if for one of the changes for next year that the number of drivers that you pick for the race be increased? Instead of 5 drivers, anywhere from 7-10 drivers per race. 10 Drivers may be too much, but a few extra drivers per race would help with a lot of people having similar drivers. Of course the salary cap would increase too.
Another possibility is having 5 drivers mandatory but having the possibility of having 7 drivers. The salary cap would have to be studied a bit, but you can have the possibility of having like 5 A class drivers in a week or a combo of 7 A-B class drivers.
I like the current five drivers to pick each week. I think if you want to get more variety in the picks from different teams you could lower the salary cap and by doing so make it so each team would be able to select fewer of the top drivers that so many teams seem to have in common. A lower salary cap would result in more B and C drivers having to be selected and less A drivers. This is just my thought, I am sure there will be more input from others.
I was thinking a little more on this, I think 2 extra drivers to the mandatory 5 would be a little complicated. If we went this route it would probably be only one extra possible driver. And the cap would probably be around $200k.
Another possibility that I've been toying with for awhile is the optional bonus driver concept again. This would be that in addition to your 5 drivers, you have the option to have any bonus driver in the field. You would get all the normal points that he achieved in the race, however the penalty points would be stricter for him. You could have the option of playing the bonus driver, he wouldnt be mandatory.
Well that's something we can look into as well, I haven't heard of anyone mentioning a lower cap. I think the cap works pretty good as it is now. You pretty much have to have at least one c class driver every week. But a lower cap would require a mix of a, b and c. One possibility is having the lower cap and the bonus driver option.
how about six drivers (mandotory) and keeping the salary cap as is but dividing each driver from first to last by increments of $5000 .........that way, no two drivers are valued the same
Problem with spacing drivers 5k apart..... We have 36 available drivers in the field right now. The Top driver's salary would have to be 180k for everyone to fit in. Then you'd have to increase the salary cap to some crazy high figure, and it would start getting too complicated for people.
