No, what was said was that the deadline rule would not change until after the race season concluded and then the Council would revisit the issue. As has been stated many times, we try not to invoke a rule change during the season unless it is absolutely mandatory to insure that some consistency remains for all involved.
The deadline was moved up this week because Lou was out of town. He has done this a number of times in the past. (like when he moved and had no internet connection)
I think that this is a very good question. Both Dixie Lee and Speedracermo asked me the same question. That is (4) members that noticed this, not just poor, lil' ol trouble making, bad-seed John Galaxy. (The last part said with tongue in cheek.)
Lou said early in the week, that he had travel plans. Read back its there. If yall don't like being here, or the present rules (5 races left) find an alternetive...or let it ride till next season. We've been over this "short-terms". Please try to remember..5 more races, thats all. My advice is Valium.

Jon, I believe you have misunderstood. All that was stated was the Council's wishes to not change any deadline issues during the season. Lou was more than willing to change it, we as a whole Council were not. Read that subject again and you will see that.
As far as the deadline being switched last week, it was posted that the early deadline was to benefit the teams as a whole that way the team picks could be viewed before the race.

I have to agree with Galaxy on this. The league president was very adamant that the deadline would not be changed before the end of the season. If the deadline could be changed this week, why could it not be changed for the (4) races after this? I am not looking for anyone to call me names or question my sexual preference or anything like that. It is a simple question. Several members wanted to have the change made, not just Miller Motorsports.
Should of just kept the picks deadline the same. The Prez could of written his picks on a napkin while eating a Quiznos sub Friday night for dinner. Then he could have told us what his picks were on Monday. Works out just fine.

who are these 'several members'? When I read that post, I see you and Miller asking for the deadline but it seems there were three or four other teams saying they had no problem with the way things are now. Not to mention the Council saying that we had decided this would not change this season.
This is two separate issues that everyone wants to group together. One being that you guys were uncomfortable with the present method of the deadline and then the Second being the deadline was changed so that everyone's picks could be posted before the race so as to let all teams see where everyone stood.
The only times that a deadline is changed is when I am going to be away for the weekend. This has been several times in the past before. I would have been more than happy to keep the deadline right before qualifying again, however nobody would have been able to see the picks this weekend. I was not about to cancel my travel plans because people wanted the deadline kept the same.

The ENTIRE council voted on this matter. I would have gone either way on this, however the council voted to keep the deadline the same until the end of the season. I'm not sure how many times this needs to be said??
I realize I don't post on here that often but I do have some thought on this matter. The decision for chaging deadlines is a done deal for next year as far as I know. The change this weekend is in all fairness to Lou (because of travel plans) was only fair to the League. Everyone knows who picked who, including Lou's picks before the qualifying session. If the lists would never have been posted then someone could have accused Lou of changing his picks sometime during the Weekend. Then we would have another long drawn out debate.
To sum it up, paying or not paying to play in this league, Lou doesn't have to listen all of our crap. He doesn't need to have a council or ask anyones opinions. If you all would look at some of the other leagues for what ever sport you might want to. You'll find that most are run by one person or two persons and not by the entire league. The fact that Lou makes this into somewhat of a Democracy is a privelage not to be crapped on.
So give the guy a break and lets see if we can finish the season with a little class.
p.s. He should probably post mine a little sooner in the week so all those with intelligence can stay clear of my picks. I seem to have some what of a dark cloud this season.
Most teams out there don't have the poor attitude that only a couple players have, and they try to ruin a league that mostly everyone enjoys.
However this league is run in a democratic way and players are allowed to offer their ideas and opinions. Anyone can make suggestions for changes, however it is the council that actually votes on them.
I wouldn't want to run this league myself, I prefer having the valuable input that I received from many players, those on and off the council.
I do like to hear words of support every now and then though.
