Everyone wants to get in on the action of fantasy racing, maybe we should invite them into this league. It would be cool to play against a celebrity.
And the winner is
Mike Hampton, the major league pitcher and Florida resident, won NASCAR's celebrity Chase Tracker game, correctly identifying the final position of four drivers in the Chase -- including Johnson.
Hampton, a pitcher for the Atlanta Braves, entered the season finale in fifth place out of 20 Chase Tracker celebrities, but accumulated 55 points to pass former Green Bay Packer Aaron Taylor for the win, 138-136.
San Diego Padres pitcher Jake Peavy was leading the standings heading into Homestead, but only picked two drivers' final positions in the standings and finished fifth with 121 points.
New York Yankees outfielder Johnny Damon finished last with 17 points.
I always thought it would be cool having a real NASCAR driver in the league.... but couldn't he be qualified for intentionally trying to fix the points? lol
